Woodside Elementary School greenhouse with group of people in front cutting ribbon.

May 31, 2019

Peekskill Rotary past President Ron Worth and several other Rotarians were on hand to cut the ribbon to a brand new greenhouse for the students of Woodside Elementary School in Peekskill. Peekskill Rotary, with a matching grant from the Rotary District funds, was proud to help sponsor the greenhouse.

Rotary donated $2,600 worth of gym equipment to Uriah Hill Pre-Kindergarten
classes after learning the school did not have specifically designed gear
for youth of that age. Peekskill Rotary welcomes an ongoing partnership
with the Peekskill City School District as they continue their commitment to
excellence. Pictured are Rotary President, Cathy Johansen, and members, Mary

An annual fundraiser for BluePath, the Peekskill Rotary sponsored the event and came out to walk. During the opening ceremony the announcer paid a nice tribute to John Mattis. John was a Peekskill Rotarian that passed away suddenly last month. He was an avid supporter of BluePath Service Dogs and was the one that introduced the organization to our club.
Athletic Awards and Fontana Scholarship
Five female and three male students with there awards..
At our June 14, 2018 meeting we had group of outstanding student athletes from Peekskill, Hendrick Hudson and Panas High Schools receiving their Athletic Awards and another very talented female student receive the Fontana Scholarship, given based on academics and musical talent.
